Boat classes

The following boat classes will be raced:

  • Open (O) CO1x, CO2x, CO4x+, COMasD 4x+
  • Women (W) CW1x, CW2x, CW4x+, CWMasD 4x+
  • Mixed (Mix) CMix2x

Boats for the Offshore Championships may be left on-site as the movement of boats onto and off the beach is restricted to certain time periods as it is open access to the public. During the British Rowing Offshore Championships, there will be 24-hour security for all boats and equipment left on site.

Information relating to the drop off time for boats will be shared nearer the event.

Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of the events.

Boat types

All boats used must conform to the British Rowing Rules of Racing, Rule 14, Appendix F, Offshore Rowing Competition Rules.

  • Solo (C1x)
  • Double (C2x)
  • Coxed Quadruple Sculls (C4x+)
Boat hire

A limited number of boats are available to hire through the organising committee. Information about how to hire a boat in in the Notice of Competition. It is important that you arrange the hire of your boat BEFORE entering the competition.

Training

Potential training times will be published after entries have closed.

Life jackets

All competitors must supply their own life jackets.

Oars

All competitors must supply their own oars.

British Rowing membership

To take part in the British Rowing Offshore Championships you need to have a minimum of a British Rowing ROW membership.

Membership of British Rowing provides a number of benefits including the important racing insurance. Please see the British Rowing website for more details and to purchase your membership.

Overseas Crews Policy

For 2021 we are unable to accept entries from overseas competitors due to government guidelines.  Please see the Notice of Competition for further information.

Filming and media

All competitors at the British Rowing Offshore Championships need to be aware that the event may be streamed live online (on British Rowing’s YouTube channel) and that other media, including photographers, may be at the event and have been permitted to publish images and content captured at the event online and in print.

If there are any concerns that you, your athletes or the parents of your athletes have in the run up to, or during the event, please contact the Event Welfare Advisor, Sarah Harris.

Safeguarding

The Organising Committee of the British Rowing Offshore Championships recognises their duty of care to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to provide a safe environment for all those attending the regatta in whatever capacity.

Trailers

Information on trailers and parking will be available nearer the time of the event.

Retail Village (TBC)

Exhibitors who would like to attend the event need to contact us, to register their interest. This will be subject to government guidelines at the time.
