Intro
Two-times U23 World Champion Matt Haywood raced at his first senior World Rowing Championships in 2022, winning a silver medal in the M4x.
After winning the men’s quad sculls (BM4x) at the World Rowing U23 Championships in 2018 and 2019, Matt made his senior team debut in 2021, racing in the single sculls (M1x) at the European Rowing Championships and Olympic Qualification Regatta.
He competed in the double sculls (M2x) at the World Cup I and III regattas in 2022, before moving into the quad (M4x) for the European Rowing Championships, where the crew finished fourth, and the World Championships, where they secured an excellent silver medal.
In 2023, still in the quad, he finished fourth at the European Championships.
