Graduate of the highly successful British Rowing Start programme, Ellie Lewis stepped up to join the GB Rowing Team senior squad in 2017.
Lewis first appeared on the international rowing stage in 2011 when she raced in the women’s fours and women’s eights at the Coupe de la Jeunesse. The following year she was selected for the women’s four at the World Rowing Junior Championships – finishing 7th. At under-23 level, racing alongside fellow senior squad members Emily Craig and Gemma Hall, Lewis won a fine bronze medal in the lightweight women’s quad sculls at the World Rowing U23 Championships in Linz, Austria.
She was selected as travelling spare for the 2017 World Rowing Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
With Rio firmly on the horizon for the core group of Olympic squad rowers, the next wave will be looking to impress at the third GB Rowing Team assessment of the season.
