British Rowing has policies and guidance documents in place to help us keep the sport moving forward and achieve the highest standards of best practice.

The governing body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the interests of those who take part in rowing at all levels. Our policies, regulations and guidance procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practice. They are relevant to all members of our rowing community.

  • The Welfare page of our website contains the Safeguarding and Protecting Children Policy, and Safeguarding and Protecting Adults at Risk Policy along with additional information for Club Welfare Officers.
  • Welfare Guidance Documents webpage contains a number of further guidance documents including anti-bullying, procedures for reporting concerns, guidance for taking children or adults at risk on training camps or to competitions, use of social media and further resources
  • On-Water and Indoor Rowing by School Children guidance has moved to Section 3 of Welfare Guidance Documents
